THE VICTORIAN ERA The Victorian era began in 1837 when the teenage Victoria became Queen. It would end with her death in 1901. The years during her reign were exciting times to be alive. For the first time in the history of the Western world, the average person was allowed the luxury of leisure time and some disposable income. With this income, Victorians loved jewelry – they were pleased to see it and happy to wear it. It was inconceivable to them that a display of wealth might arouse resentment in the underprivileged. The Queen and her courtiers set the style of the day, and the masses followed in their own way. We offer a wide selection of original Victorian jewelry that would have been affordable to the average citizen of those times. We also carry a line of authentic reproduction Civil War Confederate uniforms, Civil War Union uniforms, Civil War era civilian clothing, hand crafted accoutrements, original to the period ladies’ accessories, and quality hand made accessories for the living historian. Check back soon for our selection of authentic Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) uniforms. All of our clothing is hand-sewn and made in the USA. We are happy to do custom work upon request. Please browse our on-line catalog, and check back often for new items. Check our calendar for shows and events where we will be showing in the near future. Use our secure check-out with PAYPAL, or we are happy to accept payment by check or money order.
